This blog is the result of a successful application by Sarah Martin-Denham to the Vice Chancellor Sir David Bell at the University of Sunderland. The Vice-Chancellor’s Teaching Fellowship scheme awards up to 4 Fellowships per year to carry out a planned project.
During research for the SENCO Handbook: Leading Provision and Practice for Sage publishers it became apparent there was no free to access resource for SENCOs. This resource has been created in partnership with Ryan Kennedy and the wider team of SCOPE, Victoria Graham (ITE student), Dominick Gray (SENCO), Kerrie Whelan (HT), Phil Tebbs (SENCO), John Finlayson (SENCO), Claire Hornsby (SENCO), Laura Johnson (SENCO) and Kirby (SENCO).
The intention is that the free to access blog will provide SENCOs and other professionals with evidence based approaches to meeting the needs of vulnerable children and will allow them to share successes in practice that have improved the well-being and academic outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
